KISS stands for Keep it Simple Stupid. But there is nothing “simple”-looking about this beautiful knife. It is a work of art unlike anything I have ever seen. Traditional folding knives fold into a handle, but the KISS folds on the outside of the handle. Although the blade is exposed, it is sharpened and shaped in such a way to lie flat against the handle. So it’s perfectly safe to clip to your pocket. As for use, it should provide a lifetime of light-duty use. Perfect for opening packages, cutting plastic ties, or most anything else you encounter in your daily modern civilized existence. This thing is solid and comes out of the box sharp! And it opens like butter. I received my first KISS knife as a gift, but lost it after a couple of years. I missed it so much that I bought myself another one from Amazon. I will NOT lose this one. Highly recommended knife for those who like their blades to be exceptional and out of the ordinary.

  2. I love the shape and the convenient pocketable size of this knife. My only actual complaint is that the “K.I.S.S. in the dark” is black, the “k.i.s.s.” is the gray one. So the title here is very misleading. I thought I was ordering the black version until it arrived, but it’s still a great knife. Still sharp, and the shape of the blade is especially convenient.

  3. I bought this knife while on a motorcycle trip in Canada. I was at first apprehensive because there is no “other side” to the handle. They bevel the blade and only sharpen it on one side so that it lays flat and flush on the handle. I have run my finger across the blade when it is closed and it does not catch on my clothes or skin.

The blade stays very sharp and the tonto design is nice and strong with plenty of flat blade surface. It is a nice knife in terms of size (not girly small, yet not as big as many of the spyderco’s that my friends have.

It is very narrow, and so it lays flat in the pocket, whether it is in front with your keys (like it was during my motorcycle trip) or in the back pocket. The clip is nice to keep it at the top of the pocket if you want it there, holds tight so it won’t fly out, and can be used as a money clip or to attach it to clothes without pockets (gym shorts).

All in all, it is very well put together, solidly built, sharp, very portable, and relatively inexpensive.

One important note: because it is only ‘one-sided’ it is designed to be used right handed. the opening edge is intended for a right thumb and so left-handers would have to be extra careful not to cut themselves or to use it right handed only.
