I purchased the Garmin GPS 60 to get the anchor drag alarm, which product advertising and information says it has. The so-called alarm gives one, and only one, barely audible " beep" and that is it. This clearly is not an "anchor drag alarm". An alarm must be continuous until it is shut off. This would never awaken a sleeping individual, and is consequently useless as an "ancor drag alarm". Product advertising and information is very misleading and wrong. Disappointing for a company like Garmin.

This is my first GPS device, we started looking at different devices to track or mountainbiking rides.
At the begginig I tought buying a more specialized product, but this one is great for the price.
Getting the sattelites is not that fast but I'm not bothered on waiting 3 minutes, sometimes it loose reception if the woods are to dense but as soon as I can see the sky, reception comes back.
Anyway for my first GPS its a great buy!!
Im going out walking and riding my bike even more now that I can actually see wher I've been in Google earth.

This 60 was purchased to replace the more expensive 60CSx that died, with switch problems. This unit, same design and shape, works well. The monochrome display is hard to read, even with the light on full. The 60 uses battery power even when connected to the computer. We use our GPS's for Geocaching (we have 4, Garmin and Magellan). The 60 lacks some things the 60CSx has, but is a lot less money. Overall rating, I would give it a 4 of 5.

Picked this up at a great price (looks like it was on sale!) and we love its use for Geocaching. Pulls a signal better than my other two units.

Have been unable to use the GPS to find out how many miles I've hiked on trails in the mountains because I don't understand the instructions.
