This simple and inexpensive polymer insert serves dual purposes. Primarily it seals the opening between the magazine well and the backstrap of Glock pistols preventing dirt, sand or other debris from finding its way into the inner mechanism and causing problems.
The plug is also rounded and angled on the bottom making its secondary purpose to help form a funnel that guides fresh magazines into the magazine well greatly aiding smooth and quick reloads. Once installed the insert looks like it belongs and has been there all along. Installation couldn’t be easier. It simply slides into the opening and a spring loaded nub locks into the lanyard hole, taking perhaps one second. Its so easy a caveman could do it.
Many have wondered why Glock doesn’t simply install these at the factory. It couldn’t possibly cost Glock more than a dollar or two per unit, saving the customer the trouble and it makes a great gun even better.
